Re: Iodine Causing Increased Neuropathy?

Hi,

I just wanted to add to this thread my own experience of healing nerve damage and Iodine. I injured my foot with resulting nerve damage and CRPS in July of this year. I have been having physio and dealing with the pain and discomfort. In the last week i have started taking B1 & B12 in addition to the ATP co-factors, selenium, magnesium, Vit C, Vit D ( yes i rattle when i walk) and I was taking one drop of 5% Lugols Iodine each day. Since taking the B1&12, i have noticed a gradual decrease in pain and stiffness in my foot. I read that Iodine can also help repair nerve damage so increased my intake from 1 drop up to 2. I usually take the minerals and vitamins in the morning and the Iodine early afternoon. when i take the supplements the nerve pain decreases, when i take the iodine, i notice an increase in pain and discomfort in my foot, tingling, and what i can only describe as small but noticeable electric shocks. I am assuming this is the iodine helping to heal the nerves? Even though the pain increases slightly when i take the iodine, I feel that it is helping repair the nerves and am hoping in the next week or so i will see a decrease in the pain and detox effects. any thoughts or advice would be welcome!
