Re: How does Iodine affect Iron levels ?

I wanted to thank you for sharing. I went vegan and developed anemia and didn't realize it until I had an insane no-rash itching on my upper arms. No one could figure out what was going on but through research, many blood tests and a hair test that's when it was noticed that I was deficient in iron, B12 & Iodine (that was a separate simple test on the skin an acupuncturist did. Taking iron seems to help stop the itching, and my blood iron levels are in the normal range... But the itching still is unbearable unless I take iron... I have done further research and found my itching is described very well and a condition known as Brachioradial Pruritus. There is not yet a way on how to fix this issue, as people just live with it and do what they can to relieve the horrible itching... I think, iron & Iodine play a role in this and that my husband & I's curiosity's about Iodine playing a part in the iron absorption issue are somewhat addressed in your post. Im sure they all play a part in the health of the peripheral nerves and your post gave me a glimmer of hope. Would you be willing to share what other supplements you are taking? Thank you for sharing.
