Sleeping problem making me anxious

I don’t know if this is the proper forum to post this question but I hope anyone here can help me. Since I had a panic attack three weeks ago my sleep pattern is no longer normal. Every time I'm about to fall asleep, my heart beat increases followed by a jolt that wakes me up, and I felt slight numbness in my limbs sometimes. It’s really scary and I feel anxious about it. As the days go by, I only experienced these things when I take an afternoon nap but at night, I still can’t sleep easily.
Does anybody experience these sleep problems? In the past, I was able to sleep easily anytime I want and wake up feeling refreshed. But now, it feels that falling asleep is like bracing myself for a bomb to explode. I miss sleeping deeply and without worries. Any ideas how to overcome these things?
