Re: Eye Skin Rash, Redness, Swelling, inflamation, CURE?
Read your post with great interest. Wondering what has happened since. Did you finally resolve problem?
Since this spring I have had small red flaky patches, usually above the eye. By the end of June I had a bad reaction wherein the entire area surrounding both eyes became red, itchy and severely inflamed. Saw my family doctor and ran a course of prednisone 40mg a day for a week. Also took a daily dose of aerius. Within a few days things cleared up nicely. However after a week off the prednisone the reaction recurred this time even worse swelling. Saw a doctor in emergency who was perplexed he said it must be allergy spoke to my family doc another round of prednisone accompanied by Singulaire. AGAIN cleared up, and here I am approx a week after finishing prednisone and huge swelling, redness, itching. I have never suffered from any allergies before, but have had sinus problems from time to time. Just turned 50 years.
Did you ever find a cure? I have also seen my optometrist who was also puzzled but sure it must be allergy. He's consulting with ophthalmologist friends. Also have a radiologist friend searching for answers as well as nurse friends. I have requested allergy testing but know that will take time.
Did anything finally work for you? Did you get a definitive diagnosis?
