I would not worry about your weight.
I agree with your plan. Moving will be hard, but hey - who has it in an ideal way ?! ... When you don't fast or transition after a fast glucosamine can give you some relief for the joints. Hopefully you won't need it much if you fast regularly. One steroid shot is fine .. regular ones are not advisable, since they will taper the inflammation, but will not act on the cause and the end result will be more brittle bones and less resistant cartilage.
Let us know how you are doing. Pls, take special care to transition well into eating when done fasting!
