Re: Lymphatic Filariasis?

The skin parasite that looks like a sliver is Collembola or Springtails.

They stick upright out of the skin and can jump. They can apparentlly be felt jumping on the skin.

What other symptoms do you get? Do you ever get any kind of jumping or 'bubble-popping" sensation on your skin?

I used to early on and I have mites.

Do you ever get a buzzing in any area? My friend with worms would get that in his hands, where the infestation was worst.

Do you have sores on your skin? Do you ever feel like water has been poured onto your skin? Do people in close proximity to you start scratching or touch their skin in a way that indicates they are irritated?

Don't be concerned by these questions, it is just a chance to clarify what is happening.

I would say your trip to Jamaica is the likely cause of your infestation. I never knew just how many places are rife with parasites. Apparently parasite infested beaches are the reason why dogs are not allowed on beaches any more in some countries. Some parasites can enter the body even through a towel laid on the sand. Others (river blindness) enter the body through the bite of a tiny black fly.

PS another question. Have you been given steroids in the past five years for any medical condition?
