To me, this seems to be written by someone that has never experienced any kind of contact with God. It is true that man is very much like a creature, a creature of the flesh. I'm sure that whoever wrote that quote is basing their assumptions on reading accounts in the Bible of people who were contacted by God and trembled and were afraid and what-not. There are many different reactions that man can have when coming into contact with God.
The true purpose for man to come into contact with God is not to prophesy, not to tremble and not to feel like a creature. The true purpose for man to come into contact with God is to be sanctified and once sanctified, man is no longer a creature, it has nothing to do with being gods, it has to do with being sanctified man, which is the furthest thing from a creature. Man in the presence of God is holy. Anyone who has experienced it should know that. Anyone who hasn't experienced it really has no business telling us what it is like.
