My niece came to live with me when she graduated from HS. I told her she could live with me free if she wanted to go to college and she had to get a job and pay a small amount of rent if not. She chose to go to work and she still has the same job. She is over 30 now and still needs a house mate, but it's not me any more.

Wish I could be more positive but to me it seems like a shame for a 35 year old woman who has been working for the same company 17 years to still need a house mate in order to make ends meet and I wish she had chosen college. You have a wise grand daughter.

It is very nice when people can disagree without any judgements, punching below the belt, or condemnation of others. I like your positive living philosophy.
