You must be kidding. Even with a reliable diagnosis it is not always possible to receive treatment. My own internist won't treat me or refer me to someone who could because "she doesn't believe". I'm not sure if she doesn't believe we have parasites in the U.S., or she doesn't believe the test results, or she doesn't believe I still have strongyloides.

I do have a couple of other doctors, but they say they don't treat parasites, and that is that. A couple have offered to refer me, but no referral has come through.

So, with a strongyloide diagnosis in hand, I am still taking vet meds and overseas meds.

It's a very sad situation here in the U.S. for anyone with parasites.
