Re: zappicator... nonsense ?

Correlation does not imply causation.

These five words are such a huge, primary, guiding principle in all of research and Science and statistics that they have their own Wiki page. They explain 75% of all junk Science claims. (The other 25% are outright fraud.)

In one of my old posts I explain why eating a banana can trash a carefully controlled scientific study of cancer treatments. When an effect is observed - any effect about anything anywhere anytime - the hardest thing to do is figure out what caused it because it is surrounded by 100 times more things that didn't cause it.

It is a bit easier in the physical sciences than in the biological sciences because there are far fewer basic elements of physics and we pretty much know what they are - for 1000 years. We have known for over 100 years how electric fields and magnetic fields work, how they can propagate without "normal" physical connections, how they can heat biological material (food) without contact, etc. And because we know how these things work, we also know how they *don't* work.

Again, to be clear, I'm not saying that nothing can do what the zappicator and synchrometer claim to do, I'm saying they can't do what they claim to do.
