Re: Olfatory reference syndrome or physical problem, advice & input (possible meet?)

I appreciate both replies, anxiety does make it worse since I start sweating more, so there might be an odor that develops, I use a stress sweat proof deodorant/anti perspirant that might help lower the smell. What does intrigue me is why do medical professionals, family and my best friend say i don't smell like anything and it is only strangers that pick up said smell? It's very weird, at work I have a coworker that's always with me and we talk a lot but his breathing is really hard and he rubs his nose quite often, he smokes a lot too so it might be that, as you see I try associate what people do to other things that might also be possible, it helps me cope with the problem. As for the psychologists, I have seen them for 2 years and I have made about 50% of progress, I had to quit college for a whole year because it was really bad at the begining, I couldn't cope with it, of course I can attend college now and go out with friends but it's still stressing and I sweat (which I freaking hate) If I didn't sweat at all I swear I wouldn't have this problem, when I apply drysol and I don't sweat at all I swear even if people rub their noses, sniff, etc. I am completely calm, it's a sort of reliever. Anyways, as for my diet I work out often so my diet is really good, I don't eat a lot of fast food or any other trash food, I eat about 60% protein, 30% carbs and 10% fat. I dont feel like certain foods make me smell bad, wheter I have eggs or anything else people react the same. It might be a mix, again as I have found out reassurance from someone with the same problem would probably help me a lot and solve it, but I don't think it'll happen anytime soon, until then I will try to keep doing what I have done and improve to make it past this problem.

On a last note I have a lot of respect for everyone on this board, specially for people with TMAU I can't imagine how hard it must be for you guys and how you keep going through, my thoughts are with all of you and I hope we can some day all get cured.
