I was doing weeky acupuncture treatments last spring. It really made a huge difference. Plus my acupuncturist was some kind of intuitive. She was the first to suggest that my hyper, can't sit still, can't handle stress symptoms were actually the sign of low energy not high energy/cortisol as other doctors were telling me.
I also got herbs and they were very calming.
The problem was 1) money - weekly visits can really rack up costs and 2) the herbs were in tea form. I had to boil like 9 different herbal packets and then drink that in specific amounts 3 times a day.
Eventually the costs and the hassle of brewing herbs made me quit. I had just tried taking straight licorice root which was one of the herbs in the tea but that herb alone made me feel worse. Eventually I relapsed.
