Re: Water fasting while taking medication for chronic condition
Thank you for all the info, you increased my motivation to water fast.
It's good to know that although not ideal drinking tea and taking meds while fasting still should give me most of the benefits out of the water fast.
Something I forget to ask, the theory behind
Water Fasting is that because it's only water, the stomach shutdowns completely or something of that sort, isn't taking a small half pill twice a day will make it work in order to digest it? my other med is liquid one, about 0.5-0.6/ml twice a day which is nothing an can be taken with the water itself. what are you thoughts about the stomach part??
p.s:I know about the ketogenic diet and also about the atkins diet, both can help refractory epilepsies, but i'm not sure it would help me as I did fast before and lowering the meds fast two days before (which is wrong, I know) and coming back from the fast made it really bad for me, since I still had ketons in the body, at least I think I have I'm not sure how much that helped.
As for the diets themselves, they aren't that good in the long run, people do them to lose weight as well and be in ketosis state but it CAN hurt the kidneys later on because of the excess in protein. Also read about a doctor that cured epilepsies during the 30' but his patients were under supervision and fasting for 60 days more or less, something that would be impossible for me without controlled environment and a comfy bad to use whenever I want.
