Re: Adrenal fatigue. LOW CORTISOL AND DHEA

Firstly, id just like to say how overwhelmed i am with your responses. I was expecting anyone to reply. It means so much to me as Im a 24 year old man, i should be out living my life and having fun and ive been battling this for 8 months all alone. The doctors just wont listen. This is where i find it disgusting.

I was referred to a rare and infectious diseases "specialist" by my gp. Luckily this time i wasnt paying for it privately! He told me that he had read his letters from gp. Without doing any questioning about any sort of disease, i pour my heart out with my symptoms, and he goes straight to the, i need therapy and to take some SSRI's. Exactly what my gp says.. and showed me the door.

I managed to sleep some more last night but ive woken up to severe hand tremors. Im struggling to type.

Vitamin C i take 100 mgs a day as i heard this was good for immune support? Perhaps ill stop.

However the day i did the cortisol saliva test i used no supplements.

Im confused by my Oestradiol test as the lab ranges here are 99-192 pmol/l. From my understanding that converted to pg/ml is around 26 which is optimal for a man?

I dont mind talking about what happened to me. I was assaulted in a quiet village pub, some folks from out of town were there. Very rough sort, I walked past them to make my way to the toilet and one of them seemed to think i pushed him. They followed me to the toilet, waited for me to come out and smashed a pint glass around my face. Its a crazy world.

My MRI was for a pituitary tumor and showed nothing.

I have abused the use of Alcohol (not very bad) and cigarettes ( 5 a day) Ive quit for months now since this happened. Have i ruined my dopamine receptors?

Has this prolonged stress and misery just burnt my adrenals out?

I think the insomnia is what is making it worse.

Is DHEA safe to take? Doesnt it raise estrogen?

My DHEA is 0.16 range (0.25-2.22)

Ive been to see an endo and he tried once again to just give me anti depressants. Checked blood cortisol which came in at 645 nmol/l at 10am. range: 171-536?

How can my blood cortisol be high and my saliva abysmal?

How do i test my pituitary function? the whole ACTH thing?

Ill try the insomnia tips you suggest.

THANK YOU AGAIN
