Re: Liver Cleanse: Desperate for Help!
Alright. Some feed back would be awesome...
I got the HIDA scan yesterday. It was very easy, a bit boring but beneficial I think. i got to watch the entire process unfold. First they inject you with radio active garbage (i think barium) then they setup a gamma ray scanner over your stomach while you are laying down. They have a monitor showing the progress and flow of the radioactive material. First it goes through your blood stream then it seema like one pass the liver quickly filters it and your liver become nixe and bright on the monitor. Very cool. After about 15 minutes the liver starts to move the material in the gallbladd (if working correctly). I watched the material travel from the hepatic ducts to the gallbladder. It took about 30 minutes for all the material to make it to the gallbladder. My gallbladder was bright white while the rest of my body was non colored.
Then they injected Kinevac or CCK hormone to stimulate the gallbladder and force it to release it's contents. A few minutes into this injection i felt lots of movement almost like i was doing a cleanse though to a lesser extreme. Slowly on the monitor the white moved down the common bile duct to the intestines. I did feel as if i had a stone stuck at the end of my common bile duct, but it seemed to make no difference for my bile flow. It might have impeded it a bit...
Anyways they only give your gallbladder 30 minutes to release everything. Sadly it looked like mine was not capable of this, but I'd say it got about 80% out. That's was that and it proved that things seem to be working.
now back to my symptoms. Perhaps I'm going through a huge detox. I still have not a clue. My body has manifested some weird symptoms! Anyways most of my other symptoms stated before are not nearly as bad. The pain has subsided a bit and now I'm entering maybe the recovery phase. I'm super exhausted all the time now. I napped all day yesterday and slept 12 hours last night. My body feels super weak, but on the plus side my Brian feels alive again. It's like if am Steven Hawking. I can really move my extremities but am dying for constant mental stimulation. Though sometimes my brain drags and I become super fatigued. I do hope this detox or perhaps my chronic EBV is dying at an alarming rate. I do also think I have lyme though not diagnosed.
Anyways, I'm still alive and no longer feel as if I'm going to have a heart attack, but still feel rather poor at times. I wish I could sleep all week!
Thanks everyone for the support. Detox is nasty and very scary! Hopefully this was the peak in my journey, but only time will tell...
