Re: Licorice root - fatter face??

Thanks for the reply Joe.

Do you think progesterone supplementation could be contributing to high cortisol. The problem is the lab I use tests towards the later half of your cycle so it wouldn't catch an abnormal E to P ratio in the first half of the month when progesterone is supposed to be lower.

Believe me, I had high cortisol results before starting progesterone but wonder if taking it is making it worse.

I bit the bullet and started on baby dosage of an anti-depressant. It's been 4 days and I want to quit. I feel more depressed than ever. I thought it would take the edge off so that my body would stop perceiving everything as stress and start to calm down. Unfortunately, that is not happening. I feel very flat and apathetic. Sometimes I feel a jolt of energy b/c I need to react to something then I settle into a tired eye feeling (my eyes want to shut but my body wants to keep going).

It's been over a year..I'm really at my wits end. I figure if I had a direction (high cortisol, low cortisol masquerading as adrenaline, progesterone imbalance) then I could address the issue. I am trying the AD as last resort b/c maybe this is all in my head but others tell me that this is a worse route to go down. That AD will rob me of basic nutrients and make the imbalance even worse.

So confused.
