Read Pepe's re-post of Master-Cleanse and weightloss a little further down. It seems that you do lose some weight with fasting (of course) but for true lasting reduction the fasting serves more of a purpose in letting you get more out of a healthy diet, rather than being the entire means within itself. I think that a super long fast like more than two weeks would need to be worked up to, maybe start with a ten day? Lots of luck, you're on the right path, keep reading and learning.
