50mg of potassium is hardly anything at all.

about 16 months ago my labs showed I had a potassium level of 4.2. Since then I have been taking 2000-4000mg a day of potassium bicarbonate and guess what? My potassium levels are still 4.2.

The FDA says we need 4700mg a day of potassium. I have only met 1 person who got that amount and they supplemented heavily.

Most people get no where near that much.
