I had my tonsils removed as a child, but one crypt was missed so I still deal with tonsil stones even though I don't have tonsils. It's gross and frustrating and only recently did I realize I'm not the only person on earth who shines a flash light down their throat in search of nasty stinking pockets of tonsil stones!
