no, Iodine is NOT good for chelating mercury. Iodine MOBILIZES mercury. this can be dangerous if it is not also chelated (bound) to something and excreted. the mobilized mercury will circulate, be methylated in the liver and then, in its most dangerous form, the methyl mercury can go anywhere, including the brain.

i found dmsa to be very effective at chelating mercury. i wish i had used it more.
