I have a friend that deals with cancer by doing the Cellect Budwig protocol. Among other things he is taking iodine (50 mg Lugo Tabs), the Cellect minerals and cod liver oil, he is taking lot's of juices including green ones and he is doing daily coffee enema.
He is now going to remove some 9 amalgam fillings with an expert dent. and was advised to take extra supplements for chelating and support: Multi-min Chelate, Chlorodex, Metalloclear and some 12 gram/day vitamin C.
I know iodine is good at chelating mercury, the Cellect is a multi mineral supplement and is taken abundantly, juices supply him with lots of chlorophyll and the coffee enemas boosting his liver to detox. So beside, maybe, vitamin c, do you think any of these supplement is necessary to help with the amalgam?
any advise is wellcom ...

It's perfectly true that iodine chelates mercury. It also chelates lead, aluminium, cadmium and arsenic from the research. And yes, it does dump these into the blood for redistribution. And DMSA, DMPS, Sodium Thiosulphate et al ALL dump heavy metals into the blood for redistribution when chelation occurs. And yes, resdistribution of these heavy metals is always a danger. ALL heavy metal cell chelators have this risk -- not just iodine. And by the way, iodine also helps to remove bromine and fluorine from the body as well.
So why the hate for iodine and why the love of DMSA -- I've read Andy Cutler too and he says the same as I do above -- there is always a risk of heavy metal re-distribution whatever heavy metal chelator you use.
The only heavy metal chelator that does not cause re-distribution is chlorella because it contains alginates. Alginates are huge molecules that cannot be absorbed by the colon into the blood -- which makes chlorella the ideal safe chelator for only the intestines because when alginates bind to the heavy metals in the intestines -- they cannot be re-absorbed back into the body for re-distribution because the alginate molecule is way too big. I learnt that little pearl through reading Dr William Kelly's research. He always used chlorella to clear heavy metals from just the intestines in his Metabolic Cancer Protocol.
And if you do hate or disagree with supplementing iodine then that's a pity -- here are a couple of articles written by yours truly which describes the all round benefits of iodine for the human body. I wrote these docs in astonishment some years ago after doing some particularly heavy research on iodine's relatonship with the whole body.
