Dr. Kevin Cahill's Strengths and Weaknesses...; if you are still not well... what to do.... some suggestions

I am not feeling confident that shrimpy123 will ever read this since it has been a while since you have visited.

What other doctor did you see after Cahill? I have a similar story - and I am certain that I have invasive EH as well. In December 2013 I was so ill I could barely walk!

He diagnosed me and many of my bothersome issues went away, but not all. I did feel pretty well during the treatment, but not long after things seems to come back.

I now have heartburn, GERD etc. I went back to Cahill several times after the initial diagnosis and he found nothing. I was shocked. This was in February 2014. I then continued to go down hill until finally in July 2014 I said, "you must test me again." Again, he found nothing.

I then get diagnosed with SIBO, take Xifaxan and now have terrible heartburn/GERD, etc. I go back in September 2014 and finds EH! But he told me he only found one cell and usually he finds more. I want to cry! I have lost my life over this essentially. Have been so sick and he wants me to come back in 2 weeks. I try to find another parasitologist for a second opinion. She turns out to be somewhat well meaning, but clueless - but is now testing me with ELISA test (via CDC) and antigen test via fresh stool sample. If I get nowhere, I have also made an appointment with an ID doc at a Weill Cornell. Between the two of them and Cahill, my objective is to have this puzzle solved by October.

I am frustrated because people mention things in the forum or on yelp, but they don't say who they went to and what they took for medication. Given we can't call you up, this is like throwing us a bone, but then just as we are about to bite it, you take it away. For the love of God, people, don't allude to things - just tell people. We are a desperate bunch, looking for answers so that we can resume our life! That's it! Help us by giving concrete info - otherwise, the post is a waste of everyone's time.
