I believe that when we receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit we will know with absolute certainty that we are saved. Until that time, I don't think we know completely that we are saved. Aside from this, I do think that all Christians would be very wise to keep this in mind:
It is much better to be saved and not be sure of your salvation, than to not be saved and be absolutely sure of your salvation. Unfortunately, because people misinterpret Christ's teachings of salvation being free (as we discussed previously), there are many, many Christians that are certain of their salvation, that are not in fact saved. This is a very dangerous place to be because as soon as you are certain of your salvation, you can make no further progress toward actual salvation, how can Christ save someone, who in their own mind is already saved?
