I don't really have an answer to your question but thought I'd check in to see how your dr visit went.
I did try dhea when my cortisol was HIGH b/c I was told that dhea might lower my cortisol. I don't know why dr thought that but then again it was a conventional dr. Instead of lowering cortisol it made me depressed, my hair greasy and gave me acne. Also prob raised cortisol too. But if you had dhea tested and it was low than maybe supplementing might help. Or you could go straight to testosterine so you know it won't convert to estrogen in your body.
I would also stay away from alcohol especially beer which can be yeasty and make allergies and candida worse.
Alcohol in general is a bad idea b/c it causes weird Sugar spikes which can make adrenal surges and crashes worse.
Sorry couldn't be much help but hope all went well at the dr visit.
