Re: nj133: Roundworm Toxocara Cati Infection & Treatment - Albendazole & Ivermectin Protocol

I got the valbazen because i read that it absorbs better and the ivermectin horse paste because its cheap. My doctor is only prescribing me one dose of each every monday to hold me off until I can get in with infectious disease specialists.. in october!! So hopefully i won't need to deal with ID. Theres no way i could wait that long.
I had a hard time in the beginning because I wasn't taking the meds properly.. i didnt bother to read the instructions because i was so worked up i couldnt focus on reading the fine print... but once I reread everything 3 times, I understood and when taken properly, it made a HUGE difference.
I don't know what the future will hold as far as symptoms coming back and reinfection. I read a lot of horror stories too about how the meds stop working, but the hard part about going off of what other people say is, you really don't know what anyone else has going on medically or if their symptoms are even because of a true parasite infection or something else that might resemble a parasite infection. When someone claims to see and feel worms, we have no reason to NOT believe them, i can't see someone making it up, but you really don't know. Some infections may not even be possible to treat because they are so advanced or stuck in muscle tissue... they almost have to just wait out the lifecycle of the worm thats in whatever body part and work to keep any others from reproducing. It can vary so much from one person to the next.. but you have to take it a step at a time and get it under control before it gets worse. There really isnt any way to predict the outcome.. i find that my experience is much different from what i read about. I don't get instant relief or die off from meds. It always takes a few days to affect me. I took meds every day for the last 5 days and i felt fine each day but now today i feel sick and shaky. I always get a delayed reaction where most people get an instant reaction. So I stopped trying to predict what would happen. The only way of knowing is to try it yourself. As for reinfection, you have to at least do a second and third cycle to make sure you are getting the next generations and keep your bowels moving to get everything out. The 1 week breaks are supposed to keep the drugs from being resistant. And eliminating any source of reinfection is important too. I have a steam mop that I still blast the whole house and its contents with and air purifiers with ozone. I suspeçt stray cats that hang around could be involved because my neighbor feeds them and they tear up my trash and poop in my landscaping... so for right now I just avoid my yard and keep the kids out of it until come up with a way of keeping them away. Its hard to pinpoint the source, but eliminate any factors that increase risk.
