You may need to dig a little in here but there are posts on Iodine being a needed DNA terminator in good bacteria including the best bowel flora. Either sourced to Orlee or Walters..

I can't make sourdough without adding SSKI and I won't attempt SCD Legal yogurt without one drop of SSKI per liter of milk.
