There are no vets where I live so I have to handle abscesses myself- 1 500m Fish Amoxicillin (buy on ebay for around $15 for 100 tabs) dissolved in 1oz of warm water (get an one ounce bottle with a dropper- like they use for essential oils) and keep in the refrigerator. I give one dropper full daily for 10 days (then discard remaining). I mix it milk or squirt on cat treats. I've treated ruptured anal glands, swollen faces and paws, you name it and in five years I've never had to drain anything. Bump is usually gone in three days and giving the full 10 day treatment prevents reoccurrances. I have outdoor cats in their teens- they are doing just as well as they did in the city :) Tweet
