Keep the area clean and open

If the abscess remains shallow, most cats will recover well when it's kept clean and the Antibiotics are used as directed by your vet. Watch for any signs of fever that may indicate a deeper infection - if thats the case, she should have the abscess professionally opened and treated. If any more swelling is seen and isn't draining, have her checked.

Continue to cleanse the area with the salt water solution. Gently keep the fur away from the wound. Use the Antibiotics only as directed by your vet. Unless formulated for topical use (or reccomended by your vet), never sprinkle wounds directly with Antibiotics . This could also lead to overdosage if using human or other pet's meds.

It's best to just keep the area clean and not use any topicals.

Oregano oil is painful and irritating to the tissues and will contribute to her discomfort. Other oily products can mat the fur and delay healing. If aloe is used, be very sparing, use only on the skin surface and not into the wound itself. If if the aloe gets licked, it will cause stomach upset for your cat and possibly diarrhea.
