Pain/tenderness on upper right abdominal area

Have to looked into the possibility that you may have food related bacterial problem. You may have to think back 2 weeks about where you have been and what you have eaten. There are a number of similarities between you description and gastroenteritis- type problems.

There are a number of bacteria such as Salmonella, Shigella, E. coli, Campylobacer, and Staphylococcus. also some less common, waterborne parasites such as Giardia and Amoeba that can cause problems lasting weeks.

You must stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Sip the water rather than gulp it down and it should be at room temperature not from the fridge. If you drink tap water you may find it better to boil some and let it cool down. Adding a good pinch of Sea Salt and a spoonful of Sugar may help rehydration. Aim at 8 to 10 glasses a day.

It may also help to restrict your diet to, Bananas, Rice, stewed apple, tea and toast.

It may be related to your liver and gallbladder but the stools usually turn grey or orange and the pain is significant in the upper to mid abdomen rather that the 'tummy' region around the navel.

You doctor will have checked for serious diseases but they don't pick up many gastric problems.
