durianrider is pretty insane, I have watched his videos and he in no may appears to be a sane rational human being. Eating only fruit is not an optimal diet for humans, the only thing worse is probably eating paleo. Some people that eat paleo may be healthy for a while but just wait a few years that diet catches up with you as you develop more and more food intolerances and other symptoms. This is a fact: real athletes do not eat paleo or anything close to paleo. Professional athletes/Olympic athletes, all athletes that know anything about real nutrition eat a diet high in carbohydrates with a decent amount of protein and fat. The optimal carbohydrate to protein ratio is 5 or 4:1, any less carbohydrates will impair performance. This diet provides optimal recovery of muscles and optimal performance of the body. The middle path is the correct path. Extreme diets such as fruitarian or paleo can work for certain people, but they have no place as being recommended as optimal diets for all humans.
