A colloidal solution is nothing more than a substance(usually microscopic) that is dispersed throughout another substance.

Not to be confused by the disinformation that ionic cannot be colloidal as many purveyors seem to allude to when putting forth such claims as; only particle silver qualifies for the so called true Colloidal Silver etc etc :)

As for the ionic test, I'd say your best bet would be the table salt test. As both ionic and particle or metallic solutions can exhibit color. Albeit, the particle variant will most often yield a brown tint whereas the ionic variants will almost always follow a straw/gold color.

On the topic of concentrations, I wouldn't call 10ppm inferior as much as it is simply weaker. Which would likely mean that may need to take larger doses in order to match another product or regiment.

Having said all that. I'd exercise caution If your solution is truly rated at 10ppm and is exhibiting color as this means that there is most likely something else going on. ie, even in cases where particle silver is concerned(w/much larger particles than ions), the hue at 10ppm would likely be negligible. Whereas a naked ionic solution should not exhibit any color at all at 10ppm.
