That combo works great for us. It can be a bit rough because it really does cause all the gunk to come out.

What you are using is a very weak ionic silver solution. It really should not cause any problems. As far as wrong brands, I would stay away from anything over about 20 to 30 ppm and also steer clear of any silver solution which was made chemically or which lists protein or animal protein as an ingredient.
