From what I know, Candida is in your system naturally, its when you have a steady diet of Sugar and processed food and Antibiotics , that is when it gets out of hand and goes crazy.
I don't think that you can ever go back to the typical American diet and be free of systemic candid. Continue to each natural foods, keep the sugary treats to minimum and you should be ok.
If you go back to eating crap, you will have to fight it back again.
In my opinion.
