Re: Is untreated mold in the house/MCS a reason to hold off on starting DMSA?

As far as the mold problem, I'm not entirely sure mold is a problem.

It's possibly the smell of damp wood that's not moldy. However, we're strongly considering moving (and selling the potentially moldy place) quite soon anyway, since the house seems to make my MCS somewhat worse, and I am more or less unable to travel beyond the backyard.

An EDTA/(DMSA?DMPS?) challenge test did show some elevated elements and quite elevated lead levels, but - as far as I understand - EDTA always causes some amount of lead to be excreted, so the challenge test is not necessarily at all an accurate indicator of toxicity.

I also have high copper blood levels - unsure if the hair test book would be useful for that.

I'm still waiting on that hair test kit. :-)

It seems joining the frequent dose chelation group would be a very useful next step, the next time I make a foray into health communications and research online. I have wandered by their posts not infrequently in my research, and many have been quite useful.

It's encouraging to hear of your similar encounters with MCS (I also have never had asthmatic symptoms before) and of your improvements with supplements and awhile of chelation.

All the best,

OBW
