After that a drop in circulating leptin levels among others things can compromise your immune response. But during short fasts immune system actually gets somewhat boosted, all hormones undergo sensitivity check if you like, autophagy kicks in to clean your cells from junk and do a quality check. And in general AMPK activation does magic to anything from DNA to mitochondria repair and improvement wise.
