Re: Best form of selenium?

Hi trap.

I took life extensions L-Selenomethionine yeast free for many years then all of a sudden they drop the L-selonomethionine (Only)bottle and went to a super Selenium which contains L-Selenomethionine, L-selenocysteine, and sodium selenite with 30 mgs of vitamin E.

I am not sure about vitamin E. I did find this statement about E: Selenium and vitamin E work together to enhance the protection of cellular membranes from peroxidation. This is though to extend from increased glutathione redox activity on vitamin E.

Sodium selenite is known to be toxic,I guess Life extension sold out to big Pharm...

I don't think you can go wrong with yeast free L-selenomethionine,

Based on the long studies with the above post mentioned selenomethionine with yeast I am going to try it.

Will let you all know if I feel any bad effects. So far so good... Thanks Newport for the heads up on GMP.
Update: On the iherb site they have said that Natural Factors does participate in GMP.
