Re: Lugols iodine and cravings
There is a LOT more to Niacin than we imagined. I need to research this subject more:
I can say a few things about niacin for sure, though I suspect there is much more and I am no expert on the subject:
-Niacin helps push necessary minerals such as magnesium, phosphate, and many others into the cells so that they can form ATP even though no a in itself isn't part of the ATP structure.
-Nicotinic acid (Niacin) has been known to boost cognitive function in those who use it in high doses.
-It is even used by some docs and nutritionists as a treatment and preventative against Alzheimer's disease.
-Niacin has been used in high doses to treat social anxiety disorders and behavioral issues such as ADHD and several others.
-Niacin has been shown to be helpful as an adjunct a range of addiction treatment therapies.
-High dose niacin therapy has even shown clinical relevance in the treatment of depression, schizophrenia, and even manic issues.
-Niacin has prevented several instances that may otherwise have ended in suicide simply by the administration of a single mega dose of the nutrient.
I am becoming convinced that biochemists, medical doctors, and psychiatrists alike should be studying niacin instead of developing and pushing more drugs on us. Frankly, it may hold even more promise than
Iodine and magnesium for the sheer range of effects it has on the body, almost all of them positive.
