Just a thought but could it be Candida? Could the high Iodine be keeping Candida at bay but once you drop the dosage it flares again causing you to crave alcohol - which candida loves. Maybe you need to add another candida killer in, I note several posters have done this, i.e. Oil of oregano or Colloidal Silver .
