Re: Lugols iodine and cravings
I at first thought it was the niacin that helped curb the cravings, as I ran out about the same time I started straight
SSKI . I am not currently taking any niacin, but will be adding it back shortly to see if I can lower my
Lugols dosage while still not experiencing cravings. I didn't hear him mention a dosage of niacin for alcohol cravings, maybe I wasn't taking enough at the time? I was taking 500mg x 2.
It's strange indeed. Less than 300mg, I know that drinking will result in me feeling like crap for several days, yet I will do it anyways. At 300mg and above, alcohol doesn't even enter my mind. You can offer me my favorite dark Belgium beer, and I will decline knowing what the result will be from me drinking it, plus it's just not appetizing. It's sort of like I've gained an improved level of rational thinking, or the ability to make an informed decision based on what the future consequence will be. It sounds kind of dumb, not being able to say no, but it comes easy with
Lugols on my side.
