Re: Can Septra Bactrim kill Blastocystis Hominis?

Hi,
I had Blastocystis hominis: moderate as it was diagnosed, for approx 4 years. I was given 10 days of Flagyl and 5 days of Bactrim.
The little bugger was eliminated but boy did I get every side effect of Bactrim, including a mild seizure after I took the last pill.
I was feeling dizzy and light headed, very strange after day 3 of Bactrim but continued because I really wanted that parasite gone! Like any antibiotic, we should avoid it if we can, but like everyone says, this parasite is a tough one to kill and colon cleansers just don't cut it, I tried. I took 3 probiotic pills with this treatment of Flagyl and Bactrim and didn't get any yeart infections so it works. You HAVE to take probiotics cause these meds will wipe out your good bacteria too so take them many hours after so the meds work through your system first, then replenish your stomach with the probiotics.
