Can Septra (Bactrim) kill Blastocystis Hominis?

Has anyone successfully used Septra to treat blastocystis hominis? I came across a Turkish study that successfully treated b. hominis with trimethoprim-sulfamethaxazole (TMP-SMX), otherwise known as Septra. This is an Antibiotic commonly used, I gather, to treat urinary tract infections. But at a dose of 320 mg of TMP and 1600 of SMX for 7 days, 14 out of 15 adults (93%) were cleared of the parasite. Here's the link to the study:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10566723?ordinalpos=4&itool=EntrezSystem2....

It sounds like this treatment would be easier on the system than the anti- parasite drugs Alinia, Secnidal and Furoxone, and perhaps just as or more effective.

Any feedback?

Thanks
