Re: From what I gather so far.
I have found few things to be more acidic than ascorbic acid! Studies agree with this. Sodium ascorbate works better if your blood pressure can tolerate the salt and if you kidneys and other body parts can tolerate the effect baking soda can have on them. What I have found works wonderfully best is to take ascorbic C with lemon juice so that I am getting alkalized while I'm getting the C. I get unsweetened lemon juice from Amazon or Vitacost, organic, and mix them together with water and sip on that throughout the day. It is amazing how much this helps me with adrenal, and therefore thyroid, slumps.
Linus Pauling said to take 2 mg a day if an adult. But for someone with a health issue, like me, I think that taking 4 mg a day, at least while feeling in a slump, is way more helpful.
This kind of therapy also helped me with a knee problem I suddenly had. 2 mg a day had no effect, but with 4 mg the pain went away. Didn't know why I had that pain, for days. Usually if I have a pain white willow and/or a north pole magnet taped to the area with Nexcare will do the trick. This time it took mega C.
