Re: Vitamin C

I would like to add to my comments above. I think a lot of people misunderstand the true power of vitamin C. Yes its true our bodies need it on the cellular level for actual tissue and enzymatic purposes and the low doses stated by the FDA etc cover those needs are generall enough specifically for those needs. But if thats the case why is 10, 20 or even 50 GRAMS a day needed?

The reason for this boils down to the molecular level of tissue in our body and specifically the electron content of the molecules in our body.

Here is an oversimplification:

A free radical, in simple terms is an atom/molecule that is missing electrons and in turn steals them from other cells damaging them. Our immune system cells also sacrifice electrons to "zap" toxins, bacteria etc to destroy them at the molecular level. When an immune cell does this its basically taken out of active duty until it gets its electrons replenished.

Ascorbic acid, since its in essence nontoxic coupled with the fact its a very generous neutron donor makes it a great vehicle for use to introduce electrons into our bodies to quench free radicals and recharge our immune system.

When we are exposed to toxins, parasites, bacteria etc our immune systems demands for electrons increases and this can actually cause electrons to be stolen from vitamin C though would otherwise be used in the regeneration of collagen thereby creating a shortage.
