Re:

"Thanks for the detailed responses everyone, this is so pleasantly encouraging that we are all on the same page."
I do have a slightly different view.
"I am going to read through what everyone wrote in depth and ponder it and post some more thoughts at a later date."
Here are my thoughts.........
(And I will be blunt...)
You can't put a substance (whether it is
Iodine or anything else) on your penis and have a foreskin magically grow back. It would be one in a billion.
We aren't talking about healing wounds or scar tissue or kicking the body back into motion to regrow hair.
"I can't promise how soon I will embark upon this "adventure", because I am busy enjoying a lot of other positive changes in my life right now, and I don't want to rush into anything without detailed planning, otherwise I'll likely give up at the first significant obstacle."
You seem to be at relative peace.
My advice is to accept yourself as is.
And not worry about what 'could have been.'
"I'm definitely not scared of pain or nastiness though."
I don't think your 'treatment' will be painful - but I could be wrong.....
Just that you are going to need round the clock tending to this.
Is that how you want to spend the next many years of your life?
My opinion is that much time would be wasted and at this point only reconstructive surgery will bring back a cut off foreskin.
To each their own. I was circumsized very young and am glad I was. But that is just my own opinion. I've never lived life as uncircumsized. Just have had no problems with it. But circumsizing someone at 26 (your friend) compared to infancy may be different.
"Especially if it's for a good purpose."
If you want to spend the rest of your life trying to grow back your foreskin.....
Well that's up to you.
My personal opinion is that you will have no luck.
But very few people here ever ask me for my personal opinion.
And I like it that way................
