If true, then this would predict or suggest that people with scurvy should also be anemic.

One might also believe if as T2T suggests that calcium decreases iron absorption, that the calcium in red meat would render the iron in red meat to be less absorbed, but I ain't buyin it. Even spinach or other foods with iron in them also contain calcium.

Besides, "absorption" isn't defined.... sure everyone thinks they know what absorption means right ? I bet if you query all posters on this thread on that question, ya get a bunch of different answers, and nearly all would be indefinite.
