I doubt that they are faked. As I said, even the cheapest, weakest zapper has plenty of testimonials.

Yes, well, it would just plain cost more because it needs 2 different power input circuits. However, It would work and some customers would pay the additional cost.

There is a limitation and that is one of board space inside of the unit. If the board space is fully utilized with 1 input circuit, then it would require a larger box and a complete redesign which can be very expensive.
