This is an old post, but I would like to relate our experience in order to help those who may read it in the future. I gave my son large amounts of vitamin C over a long period of time and inadvertently caused him to develop a copper deficiency. As long as I was giving him a multi with 2 mg of copper he was OK, but then I started using one that didn't have copper and he became very deficient. So when you are taking a lot of C it is a good idea to take copper, too. And if you take C to bowel tolerance often, I think 4 mg of copper a day would be wise unless you know that you already have too much copper.
