Re: Mirena Coil and Bladder Problems

Hello,
I have a very similar story, and I believe you are correct. I had the Mirena in 2009 after having my Son. I had it for two years before I was in severe pain and an ER doctor removed it (not painful btw)AT first my first doctor told me PID. Then I started seeing a new doctor and she told me it wasn't PID it was Endometriosis. This was last year in 2012 I had laprascopic surgery done, and she confirmed the ENDO and Interstitial Cystitis. I have tried everything from ELMIRON, Lupron Depot shots, bladder instillation, and here monday 8/26/13 I'll be undergoing a hysterectomy hoping that it will solve my issues.. I have always believed there is a link between all this and the IUD because before the IUD I was a healthy mom of two and I'm only 30 years old. What really scares me, Is I've been doing a lot of research on this very topic of the IUD and I'm also finding women WHO after a YEAR of using an IUD developed breast cancer. There is so much to this I hope someone takes it on and researches this for all of us in PAIN because of the IUD!
