Sargvy, congratulations on your success! However, if you would like to help the community further, it is important that we know more about the onset, duration and severity of your condition, tests you have done, treatments you tried (I know only that you did the leave-it-alone treatment for more than a month), and the exact time you have stopped each aspect of the treatment (if you do stop the regular mouthwash).

We need to try to confirm that you experienced moderate to severe EC (which most on here have to some degree, with or without inflammation), that you experienced gradual progress, and your case did not simply spontaneously heal coincidentally with this treatment. So any pictures to show the appearance of EC and the progression to being healed would be very helpful.

In the meantime, I think it's a given that everyone here should be paying extra attention to oral hygiene -- making dentist appointments, flossing, and brushing throroughly, and oil pulling even for those who are keen. Eliminate this as a potential factor, don't let your fear of touching your lips with water cause you to have microbial overgrowth!
