bad sleep as a _cause_ of AF
I'm wondering lately just how much bad sleep might contribute to getting "Adrenal Fatigue".
I did a number of things that stressed me and my body the hell out during the period I slid into Adrenal Fatigue. Frustration seemed major. I also did adrenaline junkie activities. Had lots of
Sugar spiking and other crap eating habits. And totally messed up sleep. Together these must have assured me a quite thorough decline into AF.
For most of my illness, I've thought the major factor was frustration. I thought this imbalanced the (L)HPA axis and that could explain all the symptoms. I thought the other factors weren't really much influence (until I got seriously ill, and then they were very effective in keeping me down). I'm reconsidering.
I've been thinking lately that our diurnal hormone regulation is extremely important, and that maybe messing with sleep patterns too much can foul up those hormone levels
and foul up the systems that regulate those hormone levels so that you can no longer get good sleep.
I think one kind of bad sleep is sleeping too little, but a more damaging kind of bad sleep is sleep that shifts around a lot, and maybe gets interrupted a lot.
My questions to you:
Did you have bad sleep
before your AF? Is it conceivable it could have contributed to it?
If you happen to get at least moderately regular sleep now, do you experience upsurges in symptoms when you have a bad night or two (staying up way too late or getting far too little sleep)?
